Registration

To join Florid you will need to register with us. To do this you will need to provide us with an email address which we will email to validated the account; once this is done you will then be allowed to post material on FLORID. When you register you will be ask to provide a username. This is the name other members will see.

Postings

Postings you make on Florid will not be treated as private or confidential. You are legally responsible for the content of any material you submit for posting on Your View. All material posted on Florid is there until Florid decides to remove it or you ask us to remove it so please be careful with what you post.

Editorial control

We reserve the right (on behalf of ourselves and any moderator which we may appoint) to:

• temporarily or permanently suspend your access
• delete any posts you submit
• take any other action against your registration; if, in our view, you have not complied with the rules of conduct set out below.

Conduct

If you are under 16 you should seek your parent's or guardian's consent before you submit a posting. If you are under 13 years old you are not permitted to use the chat room/forum at all, in compliance with the children’s online privacy protection act 1998. There are often times when conversations will get emotionally intense, including the use of graphic language.

This is permitted in the proper context, but we ask that you try to remain courteous of other people in Your View. It is also your responsibility to leave Your View and return at a later time, if the conversations are counter-productive, or triggering bad memories for you. Postings should relate to your own personal experience. Please don’t name any individuals (other than yourself).

If you want to comment on someone else’s experience, (e.g. a relative or someone you care for) then you can, as long as you ensure that they can not be indentified for example if you are writing about a family member do not post the comment under your name. Postings should be relevant to helping people make choices about places where they can receive medical treatment.Postings should be constructive, truthful, and not abusive.

You are asked obey the following rules:

• Please don’t bully,harass, abuse, or threaten any other members.
• Please don’t post content that is obscene or otherwise objectionable.
• Please don’t post content that is libellous, offensive or expresses hatred or intolerance towards specific people or groups.
• Please don’t use this chat room for commercial or advertising purposes, or for any illegal purposes. If you are looking for help with an article or research, please email the Florid team.
• Please don’t 'spam' or otherwise post in quantity through automated methods.
• Please don't post content that violates the legal rights of others i.e. personal information.
• Please don’t post any material that isn’t yours unless you have the right - if in doubt check.
• Never divulge another member's phone number, address, or other private information without the express permission of that individual.
